Jagadeesh from Shikaripura
Mr Jagadeesh from Shikaripura Taluk, Shimoga District is a drop out due to socio economic condition. He started to work as a wage labourer which was seasonal. The wages he was getting was very meager. The seasonal work and the very meager income were not sufficient to look after family and to meet the family needs and maintain the family. During this time SMSSS coordinator and animator had intervention with the family and especially with Mr Jagadeesh. Based on his interest he was selected for the mobile repairs training.
Jyothi C.
Jyothi C. hails from an under marginalized Hindu farmer family living in the village of Marikoppa in Honnalli Taluk. She is the eldest child to her parents Chinnappa and Shobha and has a younger brother, Hanuma Gowda. Both her parents are agricultural laborers and earned day wages by working in others' fields. The family owned a small piece of land where maize corns were grown for self use.
Balaraj
Balaraj is the eldest child to the family of Jayasheelan and Sagaya Kumari. Jayasheelan demised when Balaraj was still a little child. His younger brother Angel Raj was an infant at the time. Sagaya Kumari did not have anything to carry on with her family nor anybody to help her out after her husband's death. She went for day wage works and kept the family moving. Her only aim was to offer good education to her two sons and a better life.
Shobha earning her livelihood
Shobha w/o Sureshappa, residing at Nimbegondi Mathikote grama panchayat Shikaripura taluk Shimoga district. I was a daily wage earner and with difficulty maintaining my family along with my husband with small income. I have 2 children and to meet the basic need of the family it was very difficult.
Babanna
I am Babanna residing at Marigudda village in M.Guddekoppa Gram Panchayat in Hosanagara Taluk. In the year 2013 SMSSS animators visited our village and briefed us about the concept of farmer’s self help group. (RSSS) We formed a group consists of 12 members for the purpose of enabling members to obtain socio economic benefits out of mutual help and named as Mallikarjuna RSSS.
Sidhesh
I am Sidhesh an active member of Dharani SHG in Jayanagar Grama panchayat which was formed in the year 2013. The Coordinators and Animators of SMSSS had conducted various trainings on organic farming.
Empowered women through MGNREGA
The MGNREGA, by providing legal guarantee to work, marks a paradigm shift from all earlier wage employment programs. It is an inclusive programme covering all the disadvantaged sections of the society. This programme plays a vital role for the upliftment of the women in the rural areas.
Nagaveni earning her livelihood
I am Nagaveni w/o Siddappa, residing at Nelavagiu Shikaripura taluk Shimoga district. I have studied up to 9th std. My husband is a daily wage earner. I have two children and to meet the basic need of the family it was very difficult. When I came to know of the training I was delighted to learn.
Shobha from Shanthinagar
Shobha is from a very poor economic background. She is a house wife. She is living with her husband Subramani and two children in a rented house. Along with her husband goes for the daily wage work but the income was very less and this daily wage work was irregular and the meager income does not allow them to do lead life and give good education to her children.

Gangamma w/o puttappa, residing at Nimbegondi Mathikote grama panchayat Shikaripura taluk Shimoga district. I was a daily wage earner and with difficulty maintaining my family along with my husband with small income. I have 3 children and to meet the basic need of the family it was very difficult.
Nikin Santhis
Nikin Santhis is the second son to the couple Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Theresa Santhis from the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish. Nikin has an elder brother, Avinash and a younger brother Steven. His father, Late Lewis Santhis, was working as a private bus driver and he deceased Nine years back due to kidney and liver problems.
Nikitha Lopez
Nikitha Lopez is one of the successful CSP beneficiaries from Kargal Parish. She is the eldest daughter of Mr Minin Lopez and Veronica Lopez. Minin Lopez works as Driver for a private party, whereas the mother, Veronica Lopez is a housewife. Nikitha's younger sister, Vinitha Lopez, has completed class 10 this year.
Reena
Reena is a Catholic living with her husband and two children. She was suffering from uterus problem and heart disease. Her husband is a day wage worker. If his work was seasonal her health condition did not permit her to go for work outside. When her health condition was deteriorating she had to undergo treatment but she had no money to spend for medication. She had borrowed money from money lenders for her treatment. Seeing her situation the Organization and the then FAT members selected her for the Family Development Programme.
Lilly Karlina
Lilly and family was economically very poor. Her house is situated in a slum area at Old Town Bhadravathi. Her husband was daily wage worker. Her son was suffering from mental disorder. It was very difficult for the family to meet the medical expenses. The Parish Priest and the Local Self Help group with the help of SAFP animator and coordinator selected this family for the Family Development Programme.
