Nagaveni earning her livelihood
I am Nagaveni w/o Siddappa, residing at Nelavagiu Shikaripura taluk Shimoga district. I have studied up to 9th std. My husband is a daily wage earner. I have two children and to meet the basic need of the family it was very difficult. When I came to know of the training I was delighted to learn.
In the month of June 2017, I joined tailoring center at Nelavagilu organized by SMSSS, Shivamogga. Here I learnt to stitch various types of clothes like frocks, selwar , blouses, petticoats, sari falls, children’s dress and embroidery etc. I also learnt how to use and maintain the tailoring machines like simple mechanisms of repairing the machines, replacing the parts etc. I also underwent EDP and EAP trainings conducted by SMSSS. They enlightened us on personal hygiene, health awareness and personality development etc. I was also taught about the soft skills, on dealing with the public and good manners
15 days before the completion of the course I purchased a tailoring machine and stitched 13 Sari blouses during my free time. I get Rs 200/- Per blouse, so far I have earned Rs. 2600/- I stitched 2 designed blouses earning Rs .800/- and also did the embroidery to the 3 saris of costing each Rs. 1500 of RS. 4500/- The total earning in 15 days is Rs. 7900/- Now I am able to support my family. I also save for the future. I save Rs. 150 in per in SHG. I deposited Rupees 2000/- in my Savings bank account. The remaining amount I spent it for my family expenses. I am happy and very grateful to SMSSS and FVTRS
