Introduction of the Family

Lilly and family was economically very poor. Her house is situated in a slum area at Old Town Bhadravathi. Her husband was daily wage worker. Her son was suffering from mental disorder.  It was very difficult for the family to meet the medical expenses. The Parish Priest and the Local Self help group with the help of SAFP animator and coordinator selected this family for the  Family Development Programme.

Successful IGPs

After the selection Save A Family Plan animators invited Lilly to attend the EDP training. After attending the EDP training, she decided to take up income generation program. However, the selection of IGP became a difficult task for her. With the guidance of the local Parish Priest, coordinator and animator she planned to start cloth business. Now the cloth business is going on well.  She has invested the fund on cloth business two times. She gets a profit of Rs. 7000/- to Rs. 8000/- per month. Now she is able to save money and provide better medical treatment to her son. She has also bought the necessary domestic articles to her house. She has secured the life of her family members with an insurance policy. She is also an active member of a SHG and does regular savings. There is a visible difference in the standard of their living. Lilly is earning regularly. She actively participates in the SHG activities. She is leading a happy and dignified life. Now she has planned to construct a house
