Holalur, Shimoga, June 25, 2019: The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society organized a training on Rainwater harvesting and the available Government Schemes for the members of Streebandhu Federation, Holalur, Shimoga Taluk on 25 June 2019. Br Vinuth was the resource person. As the underground water level is decreasing he stressed that we should not allow the rain water to just flow but dig soak pits or make suitable provisions for the water to go into the borewells.

He also requested the members to avail all the possible government schemes available for self employment, group employment, etc. Those elegible for Government Schemes and benefits should apply for the same. This will provide various opportunities to increase the income of the family. After the training members celebrated Environment Day by planting a few saplings near the government school area and every member of the federation has decided to plant at least 2 seedlings this year and nurture them. The animator for the area Mrs. Mary Stella organized the programme and collected the plants from the Forest Department for planting and distribution.
