Nikitha Lopez

Nikitha Lopez is one of the successful CSP beneficiaries from Kargal Parish. She is the eldest daughter of Mr Minin Lopez and Veronica Lopez. Minin Lopez works as Driver for a private party, whereas the mother, Veronica Lopez is a housewife. Nikitha's younger sister, Vinitha Lopez, has completed class 10 this year.

Nikitha was brought up in a poor family background and did not have hopes of any future. She was admitted to the local government school of her hometown to begin with her education. Soon, Nikitha showed her teachers that she was a clever and promising child in studies and also in taking over responsibilities. She was well liked by all at home, school and in her neighborhood. For the parents, it was next to impossible to provide her school needs. Yet, Nikitha had learnt to be satisfied with what she had and progressed well to make her teachers and parents happier.

She was noted as a promising child and was recommended for sponsorship programme by SMSSS in the year 2004, when she was attending fourth standard in school. In January 2005, she was blessed by a kind hearted couple, Mr. and Mrs. Mnacakanovi Rudolf and Lea from Brno, who accepted her to be their sponsor child. This couple was regularly in contact through correspondence with Nikitha and encouraged her to study further with diligence. Through all the helps she received from the sponsorship programme, her hard work and sincere attitude to pursue an ambition in life, Nikitha completed her basic schooling in April 2011 and then joined college to study the subjects of Arts in the Pre University Course. In the year 2013 she completed 12th grade. She always wished to become a teacher. But after passing 12th grade she changed her ambition and wished to be a qualified medical person. With helps from CSP and guidance of SMSSS, she joined the three and a half year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery course at the Nirmala School of Nursing in Bhadravathi. She received very good training in this course and completed the same in February 2017 including the six-month internship course. At present, she is working in the general ward of the Manipal hospital, Mangalore as Staff Nurse. She is very pleased to be a qualified nurse and execute her responsibilities and duties in the service of people ailing with different illness. She is very thankful to her sponsor parents, to Caritas Prague and SMSSS for lifting her up in life and providing her a secure and brighter future. She successfully discontinued from the CSP in September 2017.
