Mavinakere, Bhadravathi, June 15, 2019: A training on strengthening of Streebandhu Federation was organized for the members of 6 Self Help Groups of Mavinakere and the surrounding areas at Mavinakere Church. Rev. Fr Venus Praveen Colaco symbolically inaugurated the training by planting 1 tree in the premises of St Teresa of Child Jesus Church, Mavinakere, Bhadravathi Taluk. Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the Director of SMSSS and the resource person planted the second tree and the Streebandhu Federation leaders planted the third tree.
Fr Venus insisted that more SHGs should join the federation and strengthen it. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto spoke elaborately about the positive changes every woman has experienced in her life after joining SHGs. What matters most is not what benefits we receive from SMSSS or any other organization but what difference my joining to any SHG has made in my life. Only when SHGs are strong and the federation is active we can make a positive change in the locality. He requested the women to increase the number of SHGs in Mavinakere and build a strong Streebandhu federation.
A total of 62 members from 6 SHGs participated in the training. Mrs Pramila, the Coordinator and Mrs Parimala and Mrs Nirmala the animators organized the training programme.
