Chaitanya, Shimoga June 14, 2019: The meeting for the parents of the beneficiary children of Integrated Child Development Programme was held on 14 June 2019 at Chaitanya, SMSSS, Shimoga. Parents of 65 beneficiary children participated in the meeting. Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto inaugurated the meeting cum workshop and explained the purpose and the meeting and called upon the participants to understand the purpose of Integrated Child Development Programme. He stressed that the programme is not just to provide financial support to educate children but the parents should join hands to work for the integral development of their child. He also insisted that everyone should work for getting the government scheme which are particularly meant for the minorities.
Of the two resource persons, Mr Vincent D'Mello, Programme Coordinator at SMSSS, spoke on the positives of becoming an active member of the Self Help Group. He insisted that Self Help Groups are one of the better available option for women to make regular savings and borrow loan for development.
The other resource person, Mr Jagadeesha K. H., Programme Coordinator at SMSSS, spoke on the various opportunities of taking leadership in the Self Help Groups, Federations, etc. He also spoke about the qualities of a successful leader and urged the participants to make use of the opportunities available to them.
Mrs Anie Fiallow, ICDP Coordinator at SMSSS, explained the basic rules and regulations of the programme and the recent changes effected by the donor agencies.
