Chaitanya, Shimoga, January 24, 2021: The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society®, Shimoga organised free health checkup camp in Chaitanya, Alkola Circle, Shimoga on 24 January 2021. Dr Ravi Kumar S., MBBS, MS (SURG), FMAS (LAP), DMAS (WALS), Consultant Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy & Laparoscopic Surgeon conducted the free health check up. The following diseases were checked: Gastro Entomology, Digestive Liver Disorder, Varicose Veins, Thyroid, Appendicitis, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Gallbladder Stone, Infertility Treatment, Oncology Related issues, etc. 137 adults and 25 children benefitted from the free health check up. Before conducting the individual checkup Dr Ravi Kumar explained in brief the causes of some of the common sicknesses and advised the participants not to neglect issues related to one’s health. One should always consult a doctor when one feels some uneasiness in one’s body. This will reduce further complications.
Those with minor illnesses were provided the necessary medicine while those who needed further treatment were referred to the concerned doctors. Mr Stephen Sylvester from Sharavathinagar made all the arrangements along with Mr A. J. Baretto, Mrs Sindhu, Mrs Radha, Mrs Leena and others and provided the necessary medicine free of cost.
The staff of SMSSS contributed their mite for the success of the health camp. The director of SMSSS, Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto thanked Dr Ravi Kumar S. for voluntarily coming forward to conduct this health camp for the benefit of the poor families.
